My Website in a Nutshell:
I have been an Oregon photographer for over nine years. What started as a fun hobby has turned into a fulfilling profession. You can read more about me in my bio. I specialize in creative wedding photography and you can read about my shooting style and packages & rates. I always strive to grow with each photo shoot that I go out on. Capturing moments in unique, creative ways is always fun for an artist; whether it be capturing the light a certain way, using a special lens to add a unique element of dimension, or framing a shot artisically...it is always a fun assignment. You can see samples of my work by viewing several different slideshows that I currently have posted on my site. Some slideshows have a particular theme, while others are from one complete wedding. I feel that by viewing these slideshows you will have a good idea of who I am and what style I photograph weddings with. I also give tips as a professional wedding photographer to help make your wedding day go smoothly. Having photographed around 200 weddings I have seen it all and can help with not only the photography, but other aspects of planning your big day.
I am currently backlogging all of the weddings I have photographed since 2004 and adding them to my blog. You are able to view a shot or two from my most recent weddings all the way back to when I just started going digital about 5 years ago. It is still a work in progess and will always continue to be so. One cool feature that I have incorporated is the ability to search for blogs by city. You are able to just click on a city and it will take you to the weddings I have photographed in and around that area. Here is a list of some of the cities I have photographed weddings in: Albany, Corvallis, Portland, Bend, Hood River, Salem, Eugene, Scio, Troutdale, Bridal Veil, Hillsboro, Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, Dallas, The Dalles, Canby, Oregon City, Estacada, Sweet Home, Lebanon, Brownsville, Keizer, Silverton, Mount Angel, Mt. Angel, Tigard, Tualatin, Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, Gresham, Clackamas, Happy Valley, Damascus, Boring, Sandy, Mount Hood, Grants Pass, Medford, Roseburg, Sisters, Mollala, Wilsonville, Independence, West Linn, Aurora, Newberg, McMinnville, Sherwood, Pleasant Hill, Forest Grove, Pendleton, Prineville, Cottage Grove, Springfield, Astoria, Bandon, Seaside, Philomath, Ashland, Lincoln City, Cornelius, Cascade Locks, La Grande, Sunriver, Oregon Coast, Hawaii, Maui
Travis Johnson is a professional wedding photographer in Portland Oregon. However, I am truly an all over Oregon Wedding Photographer. I shoot weddings all over the state of Oregon: from Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, Astoria, Tillamook, Portland, Hillsboro, Gresham, Troutdale, Hood River, The Dalles, Salem, Eugene, Corvallis, Albany, Sweet Home, Dallas, Bend, Roseburg, Vancouver, Seattle, Tacoma, Canby, Keizer, Scio, even down to Medford and Grants Pass. As your Oregon professional wedding photographer I am available on a first come, first serve basis. Living in the Portland area, most of the weddings I do are right here in this general area. I know a few Portland wedding photographers and have talked about tips and tricks to getting great looking wedding pictures. Brides and grooms should research out at least three Portland oregon wedding photographers if indeed you are getting married near Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Milwaukie, Sellwood, Tigard, Oregon City, Tualatin, Wilsonville, Clackamas, Happy Valley, Estacada, Molalla, Sandy, or Mt. Hood. Portland Photography allows for a great deal of options when picking locations for outdoor, on location photo shoots. If I am shooting senior pictures there are tons of great places to go. Some neat places are the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens, Portland Rose Garden, Pittock Mansion, Columbia River, downtown Portland, the Oregon Business Park, and the industrial area near OMSI. I am looking to go up to Mt. Hood in the snow sometime and do graduation pictures of some lucky person. It would be a great addition to my portfolio.
I am also an Albany wedding photographer as I have family that live in that area. Corvallis is also a great place. I hope to some day be a wedding photographer in Corvallis. I am looking to move down to that area to be near family. My family has a home in north albany that would make for a great location to raise a family and have a photography studio. I can envision me living there. Studio portrait photography is something that I have not been able to really dive into because I don't own my own studio. I do practice with my professional lighting quite a bit, but not like I would if I had a permanent setup.
My sisters lives in Salem and I have quite a few wedding contacts in that area. I have shot numerous wedding photography in Salem and one great little place in Deepwood Estate. There is a old house and beautiful grounds for pictures. Other great places for pictures are Bridal Veil along the Columbia, Lakeside Gardens off Foster Road, O & L Gardens, which is kind of near Lebanon. The Queen Anne Victorian Mansion in Portland is cool if you can get past the trains the rumble by every 30 minutes or so.
If you read my blog about being an Oregon Wedding Photographer you will get to see at least one or two pictures from every wedding I have done since I went digital back in 2003. If you are looking for a wedding photographer just seeing my samples on the blog should convince you to go with me. Of course there are many great photographers out there and if you choose one of them I'm sure you will be happy. There are also photographers out there that are cheap. Invest in a good photographer. You can never get that special day back so capture it with beautiful wedding pictures from Travis Johnson. I'm fun, enegetic, experienced, and passionate about photography.
