My Other Passion
Back in 1998....At the same time that I graduated college with a degree in Education, I fell in love with photography. Now, for the past nine years I have been doing photography, but during the same time I have also been a teacher. Fortunately, photography is intense in the summer months, when I don't teach. Most weddings are also on the weekends and so the two jobs compliment each wonderfully. Being an Oregon Wedding Photographer is something 10 years ago I would have never considered...now I can't imagine not doing it. Most of my photography is in the Portland area, but I photograph weddings all over the state.
As for my teaching job, I currently teach K-5 PE in the David Douglas School District, just outside Portland, OR. I have been at my school for the past 5 years, and for 4 years before that I taught down in Roseburg, OR. It is so much fun! I use my photography skills to help the school. This past year I did staff portraits and framed them and hung them in the main hall of the school. People often comment and rave about the nice edition!

Thanks so much for the candor in your website! =) I can relate...i am much earlier in the journey, but I am already at a point where I can't imagine not being a photographer here in Washington...I am also a Psych major...focused on Chemical Dependancy studies right now...the two "jobs' or passions really do fit well...I have enjoyed your site...lovely work...inspiring!
