I am a Dallas wedding photographer and this wedding was just outside of Dallas at BeckenRidge Vineyard. The best time of day was early in the evening, just as the sun was going behind the hill. We went out into the vineyard and shot a few dozen shots like the ones above. There is something about the strong lines made by the vineyard rows that creates a dramatic shot. Andrew is also a friend of mine through a church we used to attend together in Albany Oregon.

I am a Hood River Wedding Photographer and this wedding was held up the valley just outside of Hood River at one of the local vineyards. It was an extremly warm day. One of those days where you wish you were swimming. Regardless, I had a great time and what a photogenic bride. I love the eyes and soft expressions from the whole day. Micah is my brother-in-law's brother (does that make sense). They have since moved to Texas, but Darcy is from Hood River.

I am a Salem Wedding Photographer and this wedding was held in Salem at the Mission Mill Museum. This was my first authentic mexican wedding. The ceremony was all in Spanish and it was a full catholic service. It was 90 minutes of not understanding a word. However, the reception was absolutely amazing. Everyone was excited, partying, and there were lots of neat traditions. The photos above depict two native wedding traditions. I can't remember exactly what the traditions were for, but in the first picture the groom drinks out of his shoe (nasty) and in the second picture people run around the bride and groom who are standing on a chair and bump into them (kind of like a moshpit). I would love to do another mexican wedding because it was so much fun!

I know Kami's dad (Rick) because he and I work together at Winston Middle School. We both teach PE. Rick owns about 600 acres and I took all the getting ready and bride/groom shots up on his property. The shot above is taken atop his mountain behind his house. What a beautiful setting! At the reception the tempeture topped out over 100 degrees.

David & Melissa were married in November of 2003 in Albany, Oregon. Their Albany wedding photographer shot most of the shots inside as the weather was not cooperating that day. Regardless, we had a good time and the pictures turned out great!

My Other Passion

Back in 1998....At the same time that I graduated college with a degree in Education, I fell in love with photography. Now, for the past nine years I have been doing photography, but during the same time I have also been a teacher. Fortunately, photography is intense in the summer months, when I don't teach. Most weddings are also on the weekends and so the two jobs compliment each wonderfully. Being an Oregon Wedding Photographer is something 10 years ago I would have never considered...now I can't imagine not doing it. Most of my photography is in the Portland area, but I photograph weddings all over the state.

As for my teaching job, I currently teach K-5 PE in the David Douglas School District, just outside Portland, OR. I have been at my school for the past 5 years, and for 4 years before that I taught down in Roseburg, OR. It is so much fun! I use my photography skills to help the school. This past year I did staff portraits and framed them and hung them in the main hall of the school. People often comment and rave about the nice edition!
